'Worry Worlds' - an immersive exhibition addressing climate change

‘Worry Worlds’ is a collaborative exhibition of porcelain globes and large-scale underwater photographs addressing climate change. Our goal is to inspire thought and dialogue, moving away from despondency and encouraging action. If we do not worry, we remain passive, and the world continues to face the threat of destruction, reaching a point of no return.

Annita takes her handmade porcelain chairs scuba diving and places them within the marine environment, revealing the hidden beauty and vulnerability of our underwater world. As familiar objects associated with rest and conversation, the chairs stand for human presence and offer a portal into a world that often remains out of sight. The artists include hand-built ceramic world sculptures in their installations. Topographical and abstracted images are drawn and printed, with text applied from researched interpretations of significant events and future scenarios. Carved areas with geographically focused adornment, reveal localised transformation imposed by mankind whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing.

By visualizing vulnerable areas and raising awareness, we aim to drive efforts for change. Restoring lands, oceans, and nature contributes to restoring our minds, reducing climate anxiety and creating a less worrisome world. ‘Worry Worlds’ reflects on the state of our planet—past, present and future. By bringing threatened environments into view, the work asks us to reconsider ‘how we do life’ while holding on to the awe-inspiring beauty that remains on Earth—and recognising what is still possible to protect.

‘Worry Worlds’ has been exhibited in County Clare and Down, our hope is to reach audiences in other parts of the UK.
